So, we all had a few awkward dates in high school, right? I tell this story with love.

At the risk of embarrassing one (or both) of us, I'm going to keep it short. I had lots of close friends in high school, and hung out with lots of different crowds. One of my good friendships from high school came to be through a funny Junior Prom date. Greg called me up one day and asked if I wanted to go to to the Prom with him. I accepted, and we went with a group of mutual friends. I didn't know Greg very well at the time, which is probably why the dance was somewhat awkward. Let me be specific. I am 5 feet 3 inches tall. Greg is somewhere over 7 feet tall, I'm pretty sure. (And I NEVER exaggerate details.) Dancing with someone that much taller than you (and someone you don't know very well) could be awkward, right? Well, in the end, we had a good time, and have remained friends.

Imagine the coincidence when two New Mexico kids ended up living one mile apart in Southern CA, all grown with families of their own. It's been fun to get to know Stephanie, Greg's wonderful wife, and their cute little man, Owen.

When Greg got in touch with me a couple of months ago and asked if I'd take their pictures, I'm not going to lie, I wanted to say no. I've never been nervous about photographing someone before, but I was totally nervous.  Greg is a photographer himself, but not "just" a photographer- he's an outstanding landscape and nature photographer who has a keen understanding of photography. But I did photograph them a couple of weeks ago, and we had a great time. Greg & Steph, I hope you enjoy your pictures!

Stephanie, you are, as always, so beautiful to me! You look gorgeous in the dress, and I love the picture of you walking on the beach with Owen. I can see the love for your little boy shining through your eyes! I have to say that my favorite is the last one as you three are walking into the sunset. Greg is a lucky man!
